Dubuque, Iowa, July 21, 2014, Digital Canal Corporation, a leading provider of professional structural engineering and design software, announces the release of Steel Design 5.
Steel Design Version 5 features Windows Presentation Foundation technology – an advanced and attactive graphics interface which has large and very intuitive tabs/icons for software operation. In this version, Steel Beam and Steel Beam Column projects can be saved uniquely as single files which saves time and makes this a far simple option. Previous releases required each project to be saved under various denominations from project to template to database to element. The new version also features an easy access to Standard AISC Load Combination along with ability to define custom load combinations very conveniently. The newer version continues to include AISC 13th Edition (ASD and LRFD) design codes for Steel Design in addition to ASD 9, and LRFD 2. Version 5 has also adopted the latest Microsoft coding platform enabling its compatibility with the modern and most recent Windows operating systems, Windows 8 and 8.1. Steel Design 5 is also fully functional in Windows Vista, Windows 7 and Windows 8 operating systems.
